We have a question about the paper (title: Prospective association of family members' sugar-sweetened beverages intake with children's sugar-sweetened beverages consumption in China; authors: Xue-Ting Liu, Jing-Yuan Xiong, Yu-Jie Xu, Li Zhao, Lars Libuda, Guo Cheng; and DOI: 10.1007/s00394-022-02971-3).

As mentioned in the "Subjects and methods", offspring-father-mother trios with one wave of sugar-sweetened beverage consumption data were excluded. And this exclusion made no sense. Since this study did not investigate the trends of the consumption, it was not necessary to exclude the offspring-father-mother trios with one wave of data. Therefore, could the authors explain the reason for this exclusion?
